Jennifer Zizman is an abstract artist and art educator whose vibrant spirit and optimism infuse every aspect of her life and work.

In her early twenties, she moved from Eastern Canada to British Columbia to study Fine Art at the University of Victoria. Travel became a central part of her life and artistic inspiration. Backpacking adventures through Nepal and India, living in Japan, and touring galleries around the world broadened her visual awareness and helped her develop her distinctive abstract style. Travel continues to be a significant source of inspiration, particularly her travels to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and New York City.

The West Coast of Canada has been the artist’s home for many years, providing a beautiful setting to raise her children, and work in her studio surrounded by the gardens of her country home. The rugged beauty and boldness of the West Coast, with the majestic mountains of Whistler, beautiful beaches of Vancouver Island, and ancient forests, have influenced her artistic vision and bestowed her with a mediative and highly inspiring art-making environment.

A dedicated educator, Jennifer has taught art to students of all ages, from preschoolers to adults. She has worked in diverse educational settings and served as the Artist in Residence at an elementary school in Whistler.  She encourages her students to nurture their unique voices and explore the boundaries of their imaginations. This experience has instilled in her a deep appreciation for the playful and the profound.

Jennifer’s artwork can be found in international art collections and is regularly exhibited in shows and galleries throughout Canada and the United States.
